Week 3

Sleeping Beauty - Act 1 - The Christening

A BIG thanks to all the Parents who have volunteered to help out this term. We still need more volunteers (including 2 more Baby Ballet Reps as we now have 16 little Bluebirds in the Bluebird group) so please check the list this week.

Welcome to new Ballerina - Charlotte B who has enrolled in the Baby Ballet class at Kanwal :)
We have 4 Charlottes enrolled at CCBB now!!!! 5 including Miss Charlotte :)

Disco - Week 6
Sleeping Beauty Disco/Pajama Party
WHEN: Thursday 15th November - 5.30pm to 7.30pm
at: Toukley Neighbourhood Centre
Admission: $5
Wear your PJ's, bring your sleeping bag or blanket for a fun night of games, movies, pizza and popcorn!!

Concert Canteen
We have decided to have a sausage sizzle after the concert at 12pm to 2pm instead of the canteen. Please check the board before or after class to let us know if you will be staying for the sausage sizzle.

Open Classes - a final reminder
Please keep siblings quietly seated near you at all times. It is extremely difficult for us to focus OR TEACH your Ballerinas if small children are distracting us or your Ballerinas during class.
Please do not chat in the hall area during classes.
Please switch your mobile off/silent during class and do not take photos or videos.
Please sit in the area where the white chairs are at the back of the hall.
We have 6 weeks before the dress rehearsal to teach your children their concert dances and I do not want to remind Parents every week!!

"As a parent I particularly like that the music, dance steps and costuming is age appropriate - I have seen too many of my friends/family young children dancing to songs and doing moves in other dance schools that I feel inappropriate for their age - i like the innocence of your themes and that a love of dance shines through.
Isla responds well to you both and she loves the differing styles of traditional ballet and the jazz body movement. I'm really happy with the open classes too I hope this remains in place (understand not for term 4 though).
Only comment would be to look at streamlining re-enrolment for continuing students and to keep the atmosphere fun and light esp for the non graded ballerinas. The dance combinations are spot on - not too difficult or to basic and the use of props is an excellent tool to make learning fun. Isla loves her time with you so that is what I go on for satisfaction"

"We like the use of props and themes in the program which enhances engagement of joy and wonder in dance. CCBB allows my child to work on developing friendships through sharing and respect. The location and timetable also work very well for us.
The only suggestion I would make for this age group is to allow a bit more variety and freedom in the program to cater for individual expression and creativity. Perhaps some free form movement and improvisations. I think this could also help with stimulating fun and laughter."
